When I first got the job at TRC I lived at Jeremy's house in Round Rock with his mom for the first month or so while Lindsey moved out of Odessa. From Round Rock the commute was simple- down 45 to 1 and 1 to 2222.
But when we got the house in Leander suddenly my commute wasn't so obvious as the straight path (183 to 1) wasn't a toll and would get back up often in the morning when I would head to work and when I would head home.
This inspired me to work out a few different routes to work, and one of them was down this winding pretty road called Spicewood Springs. The road was super windy surrounded by pretty fields and a park known as St. Edwards park. For years of driving past this park I dreamed of me and Lindsey going there, to be outdoorsy. But every weekend our suburb bubble was so comfortable that I didn't feel like going to a park most of the way to my job.
Eventually sometime around 2016 I found a way to cut through neighborhoods to avoid most of Spicewood, which combined with exit hoping meant I only saw the park on the rare days I drove the long way home to clear my head.
Then in late 2018 Lindsey signed us up to get some professional photos with Luna, and we were told to meet in the park! We got to let Luna run around as we hiked around in nice clothing, taking the only official pregnancy pictures for Finn.
Now that day remains this great memory of the time we did go, when we did do. I will cherish it.
