After a month of living in limbo the news that my son would be ok was easily the best news of my life. Suddenly I knew I could start to get emotionally attached, and we could start to get everyone more involved in the more fun and superficial rituals of an American pregnancy.
The day we got the good news we bought all the nursery furniture like the dresser and glider and crib and bed. It came at the end of the next week, right before my parents came down. That Friday my dad spent a few hours building the furniture while my mom cooked us a nice meal. It was a lot of fun having them involved and having everyone get excited. It made it all more real in a good way.
This last weekend Lindsey finished cleaning out the nursery by basically finishing moving in from our big move. We got the junk guy to haul off a whole trailer full of stuff and boxes, and now we have space for our kid to grow.
We still have some recovery left to do after this month, I slept for almost a whole day out of exhaustion of what happened. But we now know our future and our fate and I can get back in track for my big plan to get ready.
